On Friday, the CAC 40 index edged up by 0.2%, reaching approximately 8,130 points, marking its third consecutive session of modest gains. This uptick was supported by growing market optimism regarding a potential interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve. Investors are factoring in about a 90% likelihood of a 25 basis points decrease next week, in light of US labor statistics indicating a slowdown. Leading the advances across various sectors were Teleperformance, which climbed 2.5%, Edenred at 1.9%, Saint-Gobain and STMicroelectronics both up by 1.3%, and Stellantis also gaining 1.3%.

Bouygues saw a 0.5% increase following an announcement that its subsidiary Colas, through Destia, secured the initial phase of a €230 million contract for Vantaa's western tramway—a segment of a larger €750 million endeavor. Danone experienced a rise of 0.4% after revealing plans to repurchase 3.8 million shares starting December 5, aimed at offsetting dilution related to employee stock. However, luxury sector stocks underperformed, with LVMH declining by 1.0% and Hermès decreasing by 0.19%.

In terms of macroeconomic indicators, industrial production saw a slight uptick of 0.2% in October, surpassing predictions of a 0.3% decrease. Meanwhile, the trade deficit shrank to its lowest point in ten months as import levels dropped to a four-year low.
